Carbon Emissions & Interiors: How much carbon is in your interiors?

Often when we think about carbon footprint and construction, we think about architecture, core & shell, concrete, steel, operational carbon, etc. The role of interior design and material specifications don’t always rise to the forefront. We will raise awareness to the incredible impact of reducing a building’s carbon footprint with responsible interior material selections and help guide future actions with more thoughtful consideration of the impact of embodied carbon within our interior spaces. We will share the Metropolis Climate Toolkit created as a comprehensive resource on decarbonizing interior design, containing strategies and suggestions relevant to different roles and team members, including specifiers, project managers, and project leads.
